Porto Selvaggio is a protected paradise, with pine woods, cliffs and a few beaches, and the park can be reached from Santa Caterina on foot or by mountain bike. It’s still uncrowded and feels undiscovered. Getting around is easier if you don’t mind walking or have a car, though two bicycles are available. The house is functional and has everything you need. Roberta clearly loves hosting and anticipates what tourists might need, which is a real bonus compared with renting through an anonymous agency. It’s also far from the center’s hustle, making Santa Maria a true little gem in Salento. Definitely worth it.

Roberta is a lovely owner, and the house has everything you need for a family holiday, with comfortable spaces inside and out. We had a wonderful stay and will definitely come back to feel those same emotions again.

It deserves five stars, even if it isn't a luxury hotel. The rooms are spacious, with a kitchen, private bathroom, air conditioning, Wi-Fi and a sea view. The place is quiet, surrounded by greenery, and just steps from the sea. The owners are friendly and courteous. It’s also well located for exploring the seaside resorts along the beautiful Ionian coast, from Taranto to Santa Maria di Leuca, as well as the towns and cities of Puglia.

Breakfast and sunset both came with a different show from the terrace, with the sea and town spread out below. That view alone made the price worthwhile. Roberta was around whenever needed without ever intruding, and she clearly loves sharing what her region has to offer.

The solarium is a lovely spot to get away and unwind, with a breathtaking view. Roberta is straightforward, practical, and always available. Her home also has that wonderful smell of traditional Salento cooking.
