Mrs. Annamaria and her husband were genuinely welcoming. They cleaned daily, changed the sheets twice during our stay in the week of August 15th, and treated us to homemade cakes and good wine by the glass from the nearby winery. The apartment is spacious and has what you need: a fridge, kitchenette with an electric stove, shower bathroom, and a roomy bedroom. There are outdoor tables in several parts of the house, and everything is well cared for. There’s no WiFi and the data connection isn’t great, but I was fine with that. Holidays are a chance to unplug. Highly recommended.

The owners are very kind, and the seafront location is fantastic, with nearby beaches that are easy to get to. Breakfast comes with packaged items and a slice of homemade cake, plus a fridge with milk, yogurt, and fruit juices. There’s a small stovetop and the dishes you need, but no sink to wash anything in. It’s a well-maintained 1950s villa with period furnishings, and it could be a great place. The cleanliness was a bit precarious, though, with cobwebs and mosquito cemeteries here and there. The shower tray leaked and flooded the bathroom each time, and a terrible sewer smell came from the sink.

One thing to watch when driving from Porto Selvaggio: Google Maps may send you down a road that isn’t passable, possibly Via delle Rose. The B&B itself is right on the seafront, so you can swim directly across from it. It’s well placed for Porto Selvaggio and Gallipoli, and the actual town is "Santa Maria al Bagno". The hosts are extremely kind and helpful, and breakfast is excellent.

The owners were so kind and helpful, and after a week here I’m leaving with a wonderful memory. The villa is enchanting in person, even more beautiful than the photos, and it’s clean and fully equipped. There’s a relaxing hammock spot in the garden, plus a pool with a shower and sunbeds. Nothing felt missing. Highly recommend.
