Gasthof Weisses Kreuz

Tucked into a small part of Naturno, this cozy chalet-style lodge sits in a valley among apple and grape vines. It’s pretty, clean, and comfortable, with a nice garden and a small outdoor pool. Breakfast was a good spread, and dinner can be added to the room. There’s WiFi and parking, and the staff were polite.

The fresh apple juice, food, attentive service, and atmosphere make this place feel like a fairy-tale world of its own.

The garden and pool are picture-book pretty, and the cleanliness is obvious everywhere. With all the apple trees around, I didn’t spot a single leaf lying about. The rooms are large, spotless, and carefully looked after. The owner can come across as a little “bored” at first, but that’s just her manner. Her daughter works in the restaurant and is wonderfully kind, friendly, and efficient. We’ve rarely been treated with such hospitality. I’d give her an extra point if I could.

The rooms, shared spaces, and especially the garden made it easy to unwind as soon as we arrived. Mother and daughter were a fantastic, attentive team, and the food was made with care every day. Breakfast was amazing, and they even suggested a special tea to soothe my stomach. This was our first stay here, but it certainly won’t be our last.
