B&B La Grotta

The room was cleaned perfectly every day, and the freshly renovated B&B is modern and well equipped. We had air conditioning, a good bed, a very large and nice shower, a spacious room, a mini-fridge, and private parking. It's right in central Nicolosi, about a five-minute walk from the best restaurants in town and a 30-minute drive from Etna. Breakfast was excellent, with generous portions of high-quality food: fresh fruit, homemade cakes, croissants, fresh orange juice, and hot drinks. We spent five really nice nights here. The hostess was friendly, flexible, punctual with breakfast, and full of good tips for restaurants and activities around Nicolosi and Etna. Her English wasn't very good, but we enjoyed chatting over breakfast and understood each other without trouble. We only speak French and English, so it was good Italian practice and a truly immersive experience. A couple of practical things: when you arrive, call the hostess on her cell phone instead of ringing the doorbell, since she doesn't live in the house. Parking in the private lot takes some skill, as is typical in Sicily. If you don't speak any Italian, conversation might be difficult at times. We strongly recommend this accommodation in Nicolosi!
