A real highlight of our Camino nelle Terre Mutate was this beautifully restored accommodation, full of history. We stayed one night, and the friendly owner served a great dinner right there. Breakfast was very good too, with the classic Italian sweets as well as yoghurt and boiled eggs, which we really appreciated. The jacuzzi and sauna were an extra bonus after all those days of hiking.

The room, food, service and setting were all very good, but we paid for a bed to sleep in and that proved impossible. Dogs belonging to some guests were kept in their rooms and barked for 1.5 hours, twice. It was a really tough night. I got dressed and was heading to the car to drive away and sleep there, but I would have had to unlock the entrance door and couldn’t see how to lock it again once outside, so I gave up. No one on staff asked us how the stay had been, so I never got to tell the man before we left. Beware of the dogs.

The family was wonderful, and the food was delicious. We visited last summer, and the house and grounds felt magical. Climbing through the early morning mist to the mountain town above was one of the happiest moments of my life. The house has an ancient feel that made the stay feel even more real and exciting. A lovely place on the outskirts of Norcia for a carefree stay. It’s great for hiking, cycling, exploring, or simply relaxing. Giovanni and Paolo were wonderful hosts, and we’re already planning another visit.

At Fonte Antica, it’s easy to reconnect with what matters: peace, nature, friends, and nourishing, healthy food. Vegetarians are well catered for too. Ask for the lentils, beans, favabeans&pecorino. The owners welcome everyone, children included, and have excellent suggestions for hikes in the stunning neighborhood. You can step right out of this magnificent home and walk into the mountains. It has a beautiful soul. We hope to return soon.
