Les Dependances Hotel

Good value for the price. The place was clean, parking was close to the house, and there was a breakfast voucher for a nearby restaurant. The location was good too.

The receptionist was especially courteous and helpful, with good advice about the area and a willingness to meet guests’ needs. We stayed at “Les Dépendances,” rooms in small buildings in Norcia’s historic centre. Ours was on Via San Martino, about 100 meters from Piazza San Benedetto, a very handy spot for getting around on foot. The rooms are simple but comfortable, with air conditioning, heating, free Wi-Fi, a TV, and a private bathroom. They’re part of “Bianconi Ospitalità,” which has everything from superior hotels and residences to more basic options like this, with excellent value. Breakfast is at the historic “Granaro del Monte 1850” restaurant, and the quality is excellent. There’s plenty of choice, which more than makes up for the short, pleasant walk there.

I had a great stay since I was only there to sleep. The location is very central and the room was clean, with all the amenities, including a TV, mini fridge, and bathroom. Breakfast is at the Bianconi restaurant, just 20 steps from the room. If you want somewhere quiet, though, it’s really very small.

Dinner and breakfast were both very good, and the staff were friendly. We chose half-board: dinner at Granaro del Monte, about a 7-minute walk from the room, included two dishes per person from the menu, dessert, water, and wine. Breakfast was brought to the table, with jams, toast, chocolate, yogurt, juice, cured meats, pastries, homemade cake, and one hot drink per person. The room was clean and well appointed, and the value was excellent. The building has a few rooms and is not far from the main road. Check-in is a short walk away at Palazzo Seneca, where the staff explain everything. The problem was noise: the rooms aren’t soundproof, and we could hear every little sound, especially at night and early in the morning. That’s why I’m giving it only three stars.
