The Agliastrello Area in Noto sits northwest of the streets XX Settembre, Galileo Galilei, Antonino Sofia, Alfio Mandraro and Vico Rustico. It’s one of the town’s oldest neighborhoods, with a picturesque network of narrow lanes that once formed a working area linking Noto Alta with Noto Bassa. Unlike the spectacular Baroque places in the center, this area offers a more genuine glimpse of the town’s way of life.

This is one of the city’s oldest neighborhoods, a typical working-class area where my grandparents live. The streets are very narrow. It isn’t a tourist spot, though it may be worth a quick look.
