Hotel Martini Olbia

It’s clean, the rooms are ok, and the staff are pleasant. There are lots of bars and restaurants around the city center, about a 10 minuit walk away. But calling this a 4 star hotel feels out of date, if it ever was one. The decor and carpets are tired, and the mini bar and air con are noisy. It could use a refurb, plus basic things like coat hangers, a kettle and a tea and coffee tray.

Mario at the front desk was especially helpful, always smiling and full of suggestions for beaches and things to do. Andrea, the young waiter at breakfast, was just as friendly, and you could see how proud he is of his work. The whole team made us feel welcome from the minute we arrived, with friendly, informative and professional service. We booked this hotel at the last minute after an Airbnb problem and were glad we did. Our room was spacious and clean, with great AC, and breakfast was included with a really generous spread. It’s within walking distance of the old town, and you can drive or take public transportation to nearby beaches and snorkel tours. A very nice place to stay. Tell them the crazy Americans sent you.

I went with Go singles in May 2024 and found the stay an endurance test. The restaurant manager was rude, although some of the staff, including Giovanni and Lorena, were lovely. We had five dinners included, with wine and water, but had to ask for them every time. Whenever new customers arrived, we seemed to be sidelined. It felt like a hotel mostly used by people passing through for a night or two. The building is tired and the rooms badly need refurbishing. My balcony was so cramped that I had to turn the one chair sideways to fit, and there’s no pool. I was incredibly disappointed with the location too. I even looked for flights home after a few days, but there weren’t any. Do not go!

Our flight was cancelled, so the airline booked us into this hotel for one night. It was comfortable and very pleasant, and we enjoyed a quite good breakfast. If you need to be near the airport, it would be a great option for a trip.
