Villa Khepri

Having breakfast at home with that view was a highlight for my husband and me. Villa Kehpri felt like home, and the stylish, cozy accommodation had a wonderful outlook over Sardinia’s beautiful nature. The location was great too, close to lovely restaurants and beaches. We drove about three minutes to a beach that felt like paradise. It’s near the airport, but we didn’t hear any planes, so it stayed peaceful. Matteo was extremely friendly and helpful, and his tips made our time in Sardinia even better. Thanks to him and to Ray the dog! We’d happily recommend this place to anyone. A perfect stay in Costa Smeralda.

We weren’t happy with our stay. Despite what booking.com says, this isn’t a villa or a place on the beach, just a one-room apartment. The beach is about a 25-minute walk away, and you can’t really get around without a car. For this price, there are nicer places to stay. I’m afraid I can’t recommend it.

The King Suite was the largest of the three villas available, and all of them are kept to a high standard, with their own outdoor seating areas. It came with everything we needed, and Matteo had left a few complimentary supplies. There aren’t any shops nearby, so it’s best to stock up at the Eurospin supermarket just outside the airport before you arrive. The big terrace is where Matteo serves his breakfasts, which are works of art each morning. The bay views are glorious, and the terrace gets full sun early in the day. My wife especially liked the raised lounging platform under the overhanging terrace. She named it “The Crows Nest.” Tucked into the hillside, it has an even higher view and large cushions to relax on in the shade. Villa Khepri is a quiet gem on a coastal road overlooking the bay of Marinella. It’s a relaxing spot, with a beach within a 15-minute walk, but you’ll want a car to go further since there are no restaurants or other facilities nearby. Matteo lives on site and is a perfect host. He speaks good English, offers advice tailored to your tastes, and is happy to call around and make bookings or enquiries. There are plenty of archaeological sites worth visiting, and the nearby trek up Capo Figari rewards you with a fantastic view. The coastal towns attract wealthy yachts, and restaurant prices can reflect that. Matteo will point you toward places that suit your tastes and budget. He won’t steer you wrong. Highly recommended, 10/10.

The place is incredibly cozy, thoughtfully set up, and has everything you need. It’s ideal for two people exploring this lovely part of Sardinia. A car or scooter would be handy, as the supermarket is a five-minute drive away, though there’s a beautiful beach 10-15 minutes on foot. The terrace has a lovely bay view, with some road noise nearby. It didn’t bother us, unless you’re very sensitive to noise.
