Luna Hotel Motel Lago Maggiore Arona

We stayed one night before our flight the next day and wanted to have some beer and snacks in the lobby. The receptionist politely told us food wasn’t allowed after 10:30pm. We thought that was unreasonable, but accepted it. Five minutes after he left, the person in the picture came over shouting that they had given us three chances to leave and he was going to call the police, telling us to go to our room or we couldn’t stay there. That reaction was ridiculous since we’d just been told by his staff that we could stay. If there was a communication mix-up, he could have spoken to us calmly. We would have respected the rules, but not the way he was rude to us. We went back to our room and carried on drinking. Still, if the people running the hotel don’t communicate with each other or know how to treat customers politely, they should simply stop taking reservations or close, instead of bringing that shitty attitude to guests. The manager was the rudest I’ve ever seen.

The hotel itself was nice, but it’s far from everything and there seemed to be little way to get around. The receptionist wasn’t helpful when we needed to get to and from Arona. He hung up while I was asking him for help.

This was our first night in Milan on our Italy vacation, about a 20 minutes drive from MXP Airport. The staff were welcoming and communicated well through booking.com. The room and hotel building were decent. I liked the preorder breakfast setup: our table was reserved and the food was ready when we arrived in the breakfast hall.

The breakfast ladies were really friendly and flexible when we asked to eat very early.
