The town felt charming and genuinely local, and the pool overlooking the lake was a lovely place to unwind. We stayed with my parents and brother for a couple of nights and all had a great time. Our suite opened onto a big terrace with amazing views of Lake Orta and the mountains. Finding the hotel took us a bit, but Barbara welcomed us with water and made us feel at home right away. We had breakfast outside in the summer heat, with a parasol for shade. Barbara and her team brought out homemade Romanian cake, eggs and bacon cooked fresh, and two rounds of coffee. It was a great start despite the temperature. The jacuzzi was fantastic, too. A couple of things could be better: there was no air conditioning, and only one small fan in one of the rooms. The shower had good pressure but looked dated and didn’t feel completely clean, and the bathroom light was dim. We’d still recommend the place without hesitation.

The pool was clean and just right, warm enough for a swim but cool enough to refresh us after a sunny day. We also had plenty of choice for breakfast and enough options for parking. The lake view and location were lovely, and the staff were so friendly. I can really recommend it.

Tino and Beppe were the standouts for us. The two young men working here were kind, attentive, and always ready to help, which made our stay feel effortless. It’s a family-run B&B with a lovely view across Lake Orta. The building isn’t modern, but it’s carefully looked after and spotless. Our room was in perfect shape, and the outdoor pool facing the lake is a real treat when the weather is warm.

The garden and pool are wonderfully relaxing in summer, and the prices felt very fair. The furnishings have a vintage look, and there’s a warm family atmosphere, with everything kept orderly and clean. To me, this has the best panoramic view of Lake Orta in Omegna. I’d highly recommend B&B al Poggio to anyone who can appreciate the whole setting instead of getting stuck on individual details that may not fit perfectly.
