We had a wonderful, unforgettable stay at Villa Talamo. This 17th-century villa is a rare gem, and staying there felt like being in a film. With only a few rooms, it’s peaceful and has a lovely atmosphere, almost as if the villa were all yours. The service staff were very attentive and seemed to anticipate every wish. The sea-view terrace is beautiful, especially at sunset with an Aperol Spritz, or when enjoying Italian treats from the on-site restaurant. There’s also a pool with a sea view, added this year, and a private path down to the sea for a swim. We’ll absolutely be back. Thanks, Philip & Villa Talamo.

The villa itself is beautiful, and the garden has a wonderful view. Dinner was another story: the food was mediocre and felt pretentious. The main thing it had going for it was being served in the garden overlooking the sea. I’d gladly come back to stay, just not for the food. A hopefully useful suggestion: add blankets to the garden. I was cold at dinner, so I skipped dessert and went back to my room.
