Hotel Maria

The woman at reception made this stay special. She was kind, genuine, and clearly loved helping guests. It didn’t feel like a forced smile or just a job, and I wish I’d had cash to tip her. Hotel Maria, please give her a bonus! We booked a room facing the little square, which was pricey during holiday season, but the room, location, service, and overall experience made it worth it. After skiing, swimming, and using the sauna, it was lovely to get a cold beer from nearby Spar, open the window, and watch the lively square with the mountains behind it. Hotel Maria is right in the center, a few minutes’ walk from the cable car, ski rental, Spar, and swimming pool. The public pool is included, just five minutes away, and it’s big and relaxing after a day on the slopes. Breakfast was simple but good enough for us, with toasted bread, avocado, cream cheese, bacon, eggs, and other things, plus local options we didn’t try. Nothing fancy, but good fuel before skiing. There’s also a great cafe across the street. The traditional-style hotel was spotless and well cared for, not dated at all. It was easily our most satisfying stay on a two-week trip with six hotels. We’d absolutely come back for summer hikes or winter skiing.

We stayed in August 2025 and would happily come back. The room and towels were clean and well kept, and the bed was one of the most comfortable I’ve had. The pillow was a bit too soft and could be better, but otherwise it was fine. Parking is possible, though you need to let them know ahead of time since there aren’t many spaces and they can fill up. The hotel is right in the heart of Ortisei, just steps from the Seceda cable car. Breakfast had a great range, including very good pastries, fruit, and savory options. The staff were helpful, especially Andreas, and check-in and checkout were smooth.

The hotel is super clean, with very kind service and a delicious, generous breakfast. Its biggest advantage is the location, right in the beautiful centre of Ortisei. Highly recommended.

The staff were friendly and breakfast was good. There’s no AC, but that seems par for the course in a mountain town. Parking was fairly easy, especially considering the hotel is right in the heart of town. The location is amazing.
