Albergo Somont

The place is peaceful, tucked among mountains and trees on the sunny side of the valley. It’s easy to reach by car, and regular buses stop just outside. The family are welcoming and do a lot to make you feel at home. Rooms are cozy, the views are great, and breakfast is simple but very good for starting the day. I’ll be back.

I really enjoyed my four days near the Ortisei downtown. The room was lovely and cleaned daily, and there were plenty of parking spaces. The hosts were very kind. Breakfast was wonderful each morning, and dinner was delicious, with a varied menu and local specials. The setting is quiet, with a marvelous mountain view, and the bus station is close by. The owner also provided me with transportation tickets during my stay.

The view was breathtaking, and both breakfast and the other restaurant food were really good. The owners were so welcoming and helpful that one of them even drove me to the bus station early in the morning, when the bus to town wasn't running yet. My only personal downside was that the bed and pillow felt a little hard, though that may just be my preference. Honestly, it was close to a perfect stay, and I’d recommend the place.

The bus stop right in front makes it easy to get to Ortisei centre, then on to Alpe di Siusi and Seceda, and it worked well for reaching the Sellaronda too. It’s a handy base for exploring the Dolomites. This family-owned place has the best views in Somont, in my opinion, and the owner is warm and welcoming. You can see how much pride they take in it: daily room service kept everything sparkling clean, and breakfast and dinner were both delicious.
