Hotel Luna Mondschein

Dinner was a real fine dining experience, with everything cooked perfectly, a new menu to choose from each day, a lovely wine selection, and friendly, helpful staff. We also used the sauna and quiet room before dinner, just what we needed after travel. The spa and sauna are relaxing. Our rooms are spacious and comfortable, with beautiful mountain views, and the bed and memory foam pillows are just right. The whole hotel is beautiful, immaculately clean, and perfectly maintained, with not a blemish anywhere that I could see. We’ve only just arrived, tired and jet lagged, but after day one we already wish our five-night stay were longer.

Our group of eight travels from Canada to Europe for skiing once a year, and this has been our best experience so far. The staff are incredibly kind and hospitable, and somehow know all our names despite the hotel having 60 rooms. The hotel shuttle will take you to the ski lifts and back whenever you need. I hesitated about the meal plan because we like going out for dinner, but the meals here are fantastic, and it’s nice not to have to book a restaurant after a long day skiing. There are lots of saunas and steam rooms for a proper spa experience.

We keep coming back to Hotel Luna Mondschein, and last year alone we stayed three times, twice for skiing and once in summer. We’ve tried most of Ortisei’s top-rated hotels, but since finding Hotel Luna, we don’t consider anywhere else. David, Karin, and Barbara are exceptional hosts, with an equally wonderful staff. Nothing is too much trouble, the food is amazing, and the hotel is spotless. I held off writing a review for years because I don’t want Luna to get so popular that I can’t book a room.

The food was amazing, and choosing half board really added to our stay since we had breakfast and dinner at the hotel. We were there for our elopement photos, and the whole staff was excited for us. The hotel is right in town, so everything is walkable. From the moment we arrived, we were greeted by a beautiful place and some of the friendliest, most accommodating staff I’ve come across. We loved our stay and highly recommend it. Hopefully we’ll get the chance to return!
