The view is spectacular, and my husband and I would absolutely recommend staying at Casa Giovenale. Piero and Ornella made sure we were comfortable and showed us the apartment and the shops we’d need. Piero kindly picked us up at the Orvieto train station. Orvieto is a lovely medieval place that deserves a longer stay.

We had a pleasant stay at Casa San Giovenale and wish we could have stayed longer to explore Orvieto. Ornella and Piero were wonderful hosts, kind and full of useful information about local sights. They recommended a great restaurant and even booked it for us. The apartment was lovely and clean, and hard to believe it was built 1000 years ago. We strongly recommend Casa San Giovenale!

The apartment was excellent value and exceeded our expectations after I found Casa San Giovenale on Trip Advisor. Ornella and Piero met us, showed us where to park, and gave us a map and suggestions for things to see. We didn’t need the car in town since everything is a short walk away. Piero booked us a table at Trattoria La Palomba, where I had my first truffle pasta in Italy, and it was the best. I also loved the updated bathroom and the stone courtyard, where we had wine and antipasto before dinner.

The apartment is large and airy, with a lovely outdoor patio, and the kitchen was well equipped for making breakfast and dinner with local produce and pasta. It sits on the wall of Orvieto, and the view from the front window across the valley was spectacular. The hosts picked us up from the train station far below town and drove us back when we left. There were four of us with luggage, so we really appreciated the help. They speak English. We could walk anywhere in the city from here. Our hosts arranged a table for us at their recommended restaurant, Trattoria La Palomba, and shared touring suggestions. They also had bikes available for us to use. This is a 1000 year old B&B, and we loved the apartment, Orvieto, and our hosts.

A lovely house for an overnight stay in a beautiful town worth visiting.
