A simple, clean hotel in a quiet spot. The walk from the funicular is fairly easy, though it’s a gradual uphill, so take a taxi if you have lots of luggage. The staff were very pleasant. The mattress felt firm and new, the windows open, and the Wi-Fi was good.

Three stars seems about right. The staff weren’t friendly, and the woman in the kitchen looked irritated to have to deal with customers. The air conditioning was off when I arrived, and I had to ask them to switch it on downstairs. There’s a control panel behind the front desk with a master switch for every room. Then they shut the AC off in the middle of the night while you’re sleeping, so you wake up hot and sweaty at 2am. The owner is seriously tight-fisted. Just say no.

The hotel is in a beautiful spot close to everything, and it’s an easy walk from the funicular. The staff were friendly and helpful, breakfast was delicious, and the room was clean, comfortable, and exactly as described. We walked all over and had a great dinner. I wish we could have stayed longer, and I’d stay here again.

The location is great, within walking distance of beautiful views: sunset by the edge of town and the duomo in the twilight. Inside is lovely too. We had an attic room with extra space and access to the rooftop, and it was clean and next to a beautiful terrace. The staff were warm and friendly even though we speak no Italian.

The owner was polite and professional, and the rooms were clean and a decent size. The beds seemed much like the usual ones in Italy, so no complaints there. Being right in the centre made it easy to see the sights. We had a very pleasant stay and would definitely give the place a try if passing through.
