La Vecchia Tabaccheria B&B

The pool area was stunning, and we loved relaxing there in the afternoons. Breakfast was generous, with fresh local products, a delicious and filling start to a busy day of exploring. Our room was quiet, private, charming and comfortable, and the bed was the best we slept in during our two weeks in Italy. We didn’t stay in one of the trulli rooms, but loved our three nights at the beautiful Masseria Cervarolo. Thank you to the whole team for an unforgettable, peaceful stay. Highly recommended.

The room and washroom were quite small, and getting around with two big suitcases was a bit awkward. That was my only complaint, and a minor one. The larger rooms looked very nice if you can book one. We loved the friendly staff, cozy, nicely decorated rooms, beautiful pool area and comfortable bed. Breakfast was decent, too. The Masseria made a great central base for exploring the area. After our evening trips to nearby towns, it was lovely to return to the cozy, cottage-like farmhouse. We’d definitely stay again.

The restaurant was a highlight. The tasting menu was fantastic and changed every night, and the buffet breakfast the next morning was excellent. We also enjoyed an aperitif by the pool or in the beautiful communal lounge. We couldn’t get the record player working with the impressive collection of records for guests, but that was user error, not a problem with the player. From the warm welcome and tour to the gorgeous setting, huge pool and lovely lounge, Masseria Cervarolo quickly stood out from the other options in the region. Our room showed so much care and attention to detail, and the result was gorgeous. We had an amazing stay and can’t recommend it highly enough. It’s well worth spending a little extra to include Masseria Cervarolo in your time in Puglia.

This was a unique stay in a beautiful old property, with friendly staff and good food. My main criticism was how cold the room was. The heating had been turned off for summer, and when we asked to have it switched back on, that wasn’t possible, even though the manager was sitting at her desk in a puffer jacket. We had to ask for an extra blanket. We also had to let the hot water run for a good 15 minutes before it came through, which felt like such a waste. I understand these things can happen in old accommodation, and otherwise it was a memorable experience.
