At 170 euros a night, this was a terrible choice. The rooms were in poor condition and the music was loud. The Hotels.com photos show a beach in the first two pictures, but the beach is actually a kilometre away, or you need to take a bus. This is definitely not a four-star hotel. It might be worthwhile only if you get a very good deal; otherwise, I'd avoid it. They offered to move us to another nearby property owned by the same owner. But when we tried, the room had three beds even though we had paid for four people. We were then told we'd have to pay another 270 euros for a room with four beds. It felt like a scam. We called Hotels.com, and luckily they cancelled our booking so we could find a normal place.
Top.
For families with kids, it's a quiet resort where the children can step outside and quickly find someone to play with. The pool is a good size and always clean, and Francesco the lifeguard is so kind. The location works well for days by the sea and for visiting Otranto, Lecce, and Santa Maria di Leuca. The wait staff are cheerful, helpful, and very kind. The shuttle service is excellent too, and Carmine feels like one of us. The entertainment was a highlight. Even though most of the team were new, they got everyone involved without ever being pushy. We ended up singing and dancing, and they were lovely with the kids. The show about peace was genuinely moving. It's a shame the place doesn't quite merit four stars because the food quality, cleanliness, and room furnishings all need attention.
We had a week of fun and relaxation at Family Village in the Frassanito area of Otranto, and the whole team made us feel looked after from the start. The care and attention to detail were clear throughout. Federica, the head waiter, and her staff were consistently kind and professional, and always willing to help with our requests. The chefs served excellent dishes each day, with local specialties and quality ingredients. Rocco, Nicolò, Deborah, and Giulia kept us entertained from morning to evening with endless energy. Francesco kept a close eye on everyone's safety around the pool. Carmine drove guests from the village to the Aqua Speed beach club each day. The owner, Mrs. Vera, carefully oversaw the operation, and the whole holiday turned into a wonderful experience. We'd gladly recommend the resort to anyone who wants to be pampered, and we'll definitely return.
We've stayed here for four years, and this time some things felt different. I wasn't happy with the dining room manager joking with customers during service in a way that seemed aimed at limiting portions. I understand managing costs, but there's a better way. I also found it unpleasant to see the entertainment staff eating at different times, sitting and waiting to be served after working in the sun all morning, with no choice and often just leftovers. Maybe that's an arrangement between management and the entertainment agency, but it should be reconsidered. It gives guests a poor impression, and in previous years it wasn't like this. The rest of the service was excellent. Everyone was polite, kind, and smiling, though a few were still learning, which makes sense since we came early in the season. Special thanks to Lorenzo at the bar for his warmth and excellent Salento coffee. The new shuttle driver is kind, but still needs experience. We missed Enrico's punctuality. Reception continues to be wonderful, always helpful and ready to answer questions. The entertainment team also deserves applause. They were friendly, polite, and never intrusive, which is a hard balance. They managed to keep us entertained with very little, though they could use a few more things. Lollo, the manager, is smiling and chatty as his role calls for, but also has a special sensitivity. Rocco, Nicolò, Teresa, and Giulia were fantastic, even though some are very young and inexperienced. For our family, this is still a reliable place for a week of beach time and relaxation, as long as you don't arrive with high expectations. It has a family atmosphere. I'd like more variety in the land based starters, and some poolside activities like table football and ping pong for quieter entertainment hours or for guests who don't want group activities. See you next year.
