On our group cycling trip following the Giro, we found a place that looks pretty unremarkable from the road but is lovely around the back by the front door. The staff were great. We enjoyed the good breakfast and had an excellent dinner too. We had a really nice stay.

We had a river-facing room, but people downstairs in the restaurant kept smoking and wouldn’t stop. We had to shut the window, and now smoke has filled the room, so we’re having to leave the door open to air it out.

The hotel was so peaceful and quiet, and had everything I needed on site. Staff were friendly and spoke good English. I was glad to have somewhere to park my motorbike in their garage, and there was plenty of parking generally. The food was really good too. I had an amazing stay and wish I’d stayed longer. I’d come back.

You can book the hotel spa even if you don’t have a room reservation. It has two Finnish saunas, a steam sauna, a long, narrow 40-meter pool, and a hydromassage pool. There’s also a room with a massage therapist offering massages. The loungers were very comfortable, and turmeric tea and cold water were ready for guests.

Dinner was good, but the beds weren’t especially comfortable, and the staff were a little curt with us and somewhat rude. It was okay, though I probably wouldn’t return.
