Rooms could use a little updating, which is why I’ve marked it down. Otherwise, it’s a quality hotel in a fantastic location, with great service and breakfast.

The location made a big difference for us: it’s quiet and peaceful off the main trail, but still convenient for everything nearby. A huge schedule delay had wrecked our pre-booked plans, so we booked this room on booking.com about 45 minutes before reaching Trapani. The staff welcomed us personally and made special arrangements, including booking dinner 200m from the door. I had the best pasta of my life there, Medaglioni Ripieni di Crostacei al Pistacchio. Even writing that out makes me smile and hungry. We had a perfect breakfast the next morning, with fresh fruit, pastries, fresh-baked bread, different meats and cheeses, and coffee made to order. They also let us check out very late, which gave us time to get our trip back on track in a relaxed, stress-free way. This place ended up saving our whole trip without even knowing it. Do yourself a favor and stay here. Self-care matters.

The hotel sits right at the edge of the salt flats, with the Museo del Sale just a short walk away. The same building has an excellent restaurant where you can watch the sun set over a meal or have a cocktail. We spent a perfect, peaceful day at Saline di Trapani, and everything at the hotel was up to a high standard, from the rooms and staff to the pool area. I’ve stayed at a few hotels in Italy, and this had the best breakfast by far.

Trapani center is about a 20-minute drive away. There’s a good restaurant nearby and another one a little farther on, but well worth the walk. The team was welcoming and friendly, every area was super clean, and the pool was lovely. A great place for a relaxing holiday. Definitely recommend this hotel.
