I cancelled my Booking.com reservation within the free cancellation period because my plans changed, and I had confirmation that it was cancelled. Even so, the hotel charged my card the full amount. When I got in touch to ask what had happened, the manager was rude and dismissive, wouldn’t discuss it properly, and offered no solution or help. That’s a deeply disappointing way to handle a problem. Mistakes can happen, but there was no effort to listen or sort this out, and I found the conduct unprofessional and disrespectful. Customer service should matter in hospitality. I won’t book here again, and I’d warn other travelers away. Plenty of hotels treat customers fairly. This one did not.

The room was spacious and the beds were comfortable. It’s a good hotel in central Padova, close to lots of attractions, and breakfast was good.

I asked for my money back a month before the stay after I had to cancel my Europe trip, but they refused to refund anything. That’s basically $500 euro gone. I’d booked because their website advertised spa services, including massage, but those stopped during covid and never came back. Poor policy and poor customer service. Buyer beware.

The hotel was surprisingly quiet for such a central spot at Christmas, the beds were extremely comfortable, and the rooms have a tasteful design. I enjoyed the sauna and jacuzzi, though we stayed away from the steam room because it smelled damp. The spa was relaxing overall. The staff really made the difference. From my first call as we were approaching to our departure three days later, everyone was helpful and professional, especially Walter. He came out to greet us, offered to park the car, and couldn’t have been more helpful. He’s very skilled at what he does and will go far. Whatever he’s paid, he deserves more.
