The breakfast was really good, with pies, natural juices, boiled eggs, cheese, yoghurt, fresh bread, jams, cereal, and more. The owner was extremely polite and kept checking that we had what we needed. Our room was clean, the mattress was good, and the air was cool. The location is up a small hill and you can only get there by car. There are three dogs allowed in the hallway, and one day we saw one go into the kitchen. I didn’t like having to step over a dog lying by the door or stairs whenever I went to the room or breakfast. There was also a constant wet dog smell in the hallway. The rooms aren’t very bright.

The food, all home-grown and homemade, was absolutely amazing. Giovanni was so welcoming. Her English isn’t perfect, but it’s much better than my Italian, and we got along just fine. We had a good wander around to look at the goats and chickens and take in the beautiful area. My wife and I are sadly about to leave Casinai Ronchi after just one night.

We spent two days here with a friend and two babies, on a half-board plan. Breakfast and dinner were generous and tasty, with goat cheese and tomatoes made by cascina ronchi. The landscape is beautiful, the rooms very clean, and the babies enjoyed the domestic animals, which kept them entertained for 30-40 minutes each day. The staff and service were very nice. The downside was the smell and the toilet on the second floor. It was a bit awkward taking the children up and down the stairs to wash them. Bergamo and Franciacorta outlet are about 30 minutes away.
