Abalì Gran Sultanato - Sultan Suites

We lost a whole day in Palermo dealing with check-in and then spent the evening trying to find anywhere else to stay. Our room was entered while we were out, and we couldn't get back in with the keys they gave us. Everything in the review below is 100% true. This place should be listed as a hostel, not a hotel or B&B. There was no Wi-Fi, no soap or shampoo, and no class. These reviews look bought and paid for by people who've never been inside. Do yourself a favor and stay somewhere else. Seriously.

Gorgeous hotel right in the heart of palermo. Vito was a wonderful host, and he felt like a friend too. Best hotel, best host 👌

The location was top notch and the bed was really comfortable, so the stay was good in some ways. But the AC barely worked, and the bathroom wasn't very clean, with hairs on the wall. On one of the last days, we came back to find a key in the outside of our room door. We told the host, who said the cleaning service had most likely left it. He did apologize, but I felt dismissed. I wouldn't stay there again.

The central location was the one good thing. The place was so bad that I left five days early, and I honestly suspect some of the reviews are fake. The so-called funky uniqueness was just piles of stuff and dirt, and the whole place was extremely dirty. There was no breakfast, and the host wasn’t there. He took hours to reply, then kept harassing me for a photo of my passport until I sent it. The door locks didn’t work, my bathroom sink was clogged, and the walls were so thin I could hear people switching on lights in their rooms. The listing said we’d have the whole apartment, but I only had my room. Maybe the living room was available, though I wouldn’t have wanted to use it. I could keep listing reasons to avoid this place, but save your money and sanity. It’s one of the worst places I’ve stayed.
