The rooms and shared spaces have lots of character, with refurbished antique furniture, books, and appliances. I especially liked the friendly, helpful staff member, whose care for guests was remarkable even by Southern Italy’s hospitable standards. The hotel also has its own perfume line inspired by typical Sicilian scents, which makes for a great souvenir. Most major sights are no more than a 30-minute walk away. When I come back to Palermo, I won’t look elsewhere for a place to stay.

The people here took such good care of us, and we felt very welcome. Federica was helpful, and Luigi handled our airport pickup and drop-off. Breakfast was a standout, especially the best scrambled eggs I’ve ever had, freshly piped cannolicco, and great service. The rooms were clean and comfortable, in a beautiful building right in the center of Palermo. Via maqueda, the long pedestrian street, is right there.

For a two or three night visit to Palermo, this cozy place worked really well. The staff were kind and ready to help, the room was comfortable, and the main city attractions are within walking distance. There’s also an underground parking lot just a minute away. One drawback: the walls are quite thin, so loud conversations from other guests can disturb you.

A small boutique hotel with a cozy feel, clean rooms, and lovely furniture. It’s in Palermo’s Borgo Vecchio district, with Fontana Pretoria nearby. The center is only 500 meters away, and Palermo Cathedral is an 18-minute walk. I visited in April 2024.
