Albergo Cavour

That little balcony and the old-fashioned elevator were lovely extras, and I’m grateful for the comforting hugs too. I arrived in Palermo alone in early Dec 2025, traveling on a budget and feeling uneasy after the hectic streets outside. Once inside, I felt safe and welcomed straight away. The owner lives there, which helped me feel looked after and completely at ease. This was exactly the place I needed. Highly recommend 🥰

The neighborhood made me a little unsure at first, but it turned out fine, and the historic building is beautiful inside. I stayed for 2 nights in late March. The room was roomy and comfortable with a great view, though the shower stall in the bathroom was small. The hosts brought breakfast and hot coffee, along with warm croissants, to my room at the time I chose. I don’t speak Italian, but that wasn’t a problem. The price was excellent, and Palermo’s beautiful sights are close by. I’d stay again.

I ordered the continental breakfast for five mornings, choosing croissants, yogurt, and coffee, and it was brought to my room. Everyone I met was friendly and accommodating. My room had antique furnishings, tiled floors, and French doors that opened onto a large balcony with a lovely Palermo view. The bed was small but comfortable, and it was cleaned daily with fresh towels. Across the hall, the bathroom was very clean, with tiled walls and floor, a bidet, a spacious step-in shower, and plenty of hot water. A wonderful stay.

The only real drawback was some noise from the street outside, though the A/C meant I could keep the windows shut even in summer, and that blocked nearly all of it. Albergo Cavour sits on the fifth floor of a beautiful old building, close to the bus and railway stations. It’s a small hotel with a very nice host. The rooms are large, clean, and attractive, and the beds are comfortable. Other hotels may be nearer the main tourist areas, but I’d definitely recommend this one.
