Maria was a fantastic host, and meeting her and staying at the arogona rooms was a real pleasure. The apartment is ideally placed for exploring Palermo's old city, with plenty to see and do and great restaurants within walking distance. The rooms are clean, well equipped, and a good size, with air conditioning and en suite facilities in every bedroom. It can get noisy at night in this busy area, but you get used to it, and it adds to the atmosphere of this wonderful city. I'd happily recommend a stay here and would come back.

The main drawback for me was the location. The shortest way to the center goes through a very run-down area, and I didn't feel comfortable taking it in the evening. Maybe I'm a bit paranoid, but I chose longer, quieter routes instead. The B&B itself was clean and well kept, with, I think, three rooms in all. I stayed three nights, the manager was a kind and helpful lady, and breakfast was limited but acceptable.
