Really good value for the price. The owner was super nice and checked in on us at breakfast to make sure we were comfortable. The staff were nice too. The room was so spacious I could do laps in it, and it was very clean. Good location and clear instructions.

I absolutely loved my stay at this B&B in the heart of Palermo. The curator was very kind and even called to check on me, since Italian isn’t my first language. A guard was posted outside for most of the day. My suite had a balcony that opened onto a terrace overlooking an interesting pedestrian street, and the modern room had plenty of outlets in the Italian style. The electronics all needed the key card. Teatro Massimo is very close, with premium shopping and good restaurants within walking distance. There’s also plenty to see and do just downstairs.

The room was clean and we were close to everything, but the breakfast was very mediocre, just one sugary pastry and no fruit, eggs, or other healthy options. It also felt more like an Airbnb than a hotel. For all four days, there was a lot of morning noise from the hallway.

Belmonte 102 is an exclusive guesthouse, with a concierge and another person at the reception on the floor. It felt safe, with lots of shops and restaurants nearby. In downtown Palermo, there are fancy stores, while local food is affordable. The room can be cleaned on request, and towels and bathroom essentials are provided. Breakfast costs an extra €4 per person; you get a voucher to order whatever you like at Cafè de Paris, about 100 meters down the street. Walking times: Teatro Massimo, 7 minutes; Quattro Canti, 15; Palermo Cathedral, 30; and the bus 806 stop for Mondello beach, 12 minutes. Buy the €1.40 one-way ticket at the AVAT corner stand before boarding at Piazza Castelnuovo.
