The location is excellent, though being inside the restricted traffic zone (ZTL) makes arriving by car a real hassle. That's not the management's fault. Beyond that, there's a lot to be desired. The bathroom had no bidet, which we've never encountered at a hotel in Italy. We also had to buy shower gel because the only thing there was an almost empty liquid hand soap dispenser. The shower stall was so small even the Smurfs would struggle in it. I'm sure there are better choices.

The location was good and the courtyard's above-ground pool was nice. My wife, son and I stayed here during a three-week trip around Italy, but the experience had some serious drawbacks. The mattress was awful, made of two mattresses stacked together, and caused guaranteed back pain. The stay wasn't cheap, so I expected a decent mattress. We could also hear everything from the family living upstairs because the apartment wasn't soundproofed. To be fair, it was quiet from midnight until 7:00 AM, so that may depend on how you travel. The owner was aggressive and rude. After my wife posted a negative review on Booking.com, he messaged her on WhatsApp minutes later, called her an idiot for complaining about the neighbor's barking dog waking our son, and said she should have gone to the mountains if she wanted quiet instead of choosing a big city like Palermo. He added that dogs bark everywhere, insulted our home cleanliness and the bed, called her a cheapskate, and said he would go to Palm Hotel next time.

That little pool in the atrium was a nice touch. The La Magione Suite is a clean, tastefully furnished apartment in Palermo’s historic center.

There’s a good supermarket nearby, along with restaurants and places to visit. The apartment itself was roomy and comfortable, and the pool was lovely and clean. Great location for the price.
