Dimora Annulina B&B

The staff were very kind and helpful, and I'd strongly recommend this good-quality, convenient B&B. It's in a strategic area, close to the station and within walking distance of Palermo's main tourist attractions.

Dimora Annulina is perfectly located near the central station and all the nice places, but the stay was disappointing. We were there for five days, and cleanliness was very poor. The building itself was very old, which wasn't the problem. The ripped bed cover was: one morning my foot caught in a hole and I nearly tripped. The shower drain was blocked, the place was dusty, and the walls looked like they hadn't been painted in 30 years. Breakfast was poor, just plain croissants. We were charged an extra 20 euro for unclear reasons, apparently some taxes, but they didn't give us a receipt even though we asked. The man at reception didn't speak any English and ignored us when we requested it. We had booked through a travel agency and were told everything was paid through them. I don't understand the good reviews. This definitely doesn't feel like a 3 star place.

They ignored us completely until the day before our stay, then canceled our reservation out of nowhere. A really awful hotel experience, as bad as it gets.

We knew this would be very basic, and that was fine. We paid a little under 60 euros for one night in Palermo in June 2024, so we weren't expecting anything fancy. But the dirt and safety problems had nothing to do with the place's looks. The bed was broken, and when we lay down, half our bodies felt like they were falling through it. The ceiling was starting to chip, the shower wouldn't drain, and the broken window shutters had been replaced with cardboard. The pillows were a joke. I used my plane pillow just to get some decent sleep. Breakfast was included, which was nice. It was basic, with a typical croissant, fruit, some other pastries, and hot coffee. The location was close to the city center, but the street seemed a bit risky for leaving a car, as the page suggested. There were signs around the facility warning that cars parked there would be towed. We used a private parking spot very close by instead, at 27 euros per 18 hours.
