Dimora Bellini residenza d' epoca

Dimora Bellini was easily the worst part of an otherwise amazing two weeks travelling around Sicily. The bathroom was awful to use because there was black mould, especially around the shower and sink. It felt like a health hazard. The room card said breakfast ran from 7:30-9:30 AM, so with our early flight and an airport transfer booked for 8, we went down at 7:30. There were only some old pears with flies around them, a few biscuits, and peanuts. The contact person replied curtly that breakfast began at 8, with no offer of another option. The espresso machine was on and someone was meant to be handling breakfast, but nobody came to help or explain. It was also nearly 30°C in the room because the air conditioning wasn’t working properly. We couldn’t open the window, since a restaurant below sent the smell of fried food into the room. When we contacted the hotel, they just said the AC was working all the time and offered no solution. I’d look elsewhere for a pleasant stay in Palermo.

The staff were kind and helpful, and breakfast was nice. Our room was modern and very clean. The hotel is right in the heart of Palermo, opening onto one of the city’s best-known streets. The cathedral and Vucciria are only about a five-minute walk away.

I had a great time and would happily stay here again. The service was spot on, with an especially welcoming and helpful staff. Step outside and you’re in the busy center, surrounded by shops, bars, and restaurants, while the rooms stay nice and quiet. The main sights are all walkable too.

We spent five days here in July and had a wonderful time. The room was amazing, and our hosts made us feel very welcome. Its position between the old and new town worked perfectly for us: churches, palaces, and other sights were close by, as were the bars and restaurants on the newer side. We’d definitely choose this boutique hotel again next time we’re in Palermo.
