Greek Luxury Apartments

The location is close to the city center, but the surrounding area felt neglected, and we weren't told how to open the locked garbage containers outside. I recently stayed at the "Greek Luxury Apartments" in Palermo, and the property didn't live up to its name. The kitchen was poorly equipped and, to me, misleadingly advertised. The drawers had random cleaning products instead of utensils. The few kitchen items were in unacceptable shape: bent knives, a pan without a handle, a badly corroded moka pot and dirty silverware put back in the cabinets. Despite the "luxury" label, there was no dishwasher or washing machine, basic conveniences I expected for a comfortable stay. There was no vacuum cleaner either, and the furniture was unstable. The glass dining table wobbled when we put plates down. The shower design let water leak out into the main room. We had no internet for the first four days and paid for our own mobile data. When we raised the problem, the host, who doesn't speak English, insisted on coming into the apartment while we were out. We had to say explicitly that we would call the police if anyone entered without permission. When he did come, he ignored our repeated polite requests to take his shoes off. His "technical fix" was just plugging the modem into the wall, something we could easily have done ourselves. Later he insisted on coming back when my girlfriend was alone in the apartment. We felt very uncomfortable and refused entry. The online photos don't show the apartment as it is now. I took photos to document what I considered unhygienic conditions. If this is their standard for "luxury," I find it entirely misleading. I strongly advise future travelers to look elsewhere.
