Guelio Al Massimo

Our room was quiet and very clean, on the sixth floor with a balcony. Check-in was easy, and the owners were helpful and available. When we had a problem with our key late at night, they sorted it out very quickly. Breakfast was fine, with everything we needed, including good croissants each morning. Great value, and the location is very convenient.

We were greeted by Angela, who was friendly and helpful throughout our three days, and had also been helpful on WhatsApp before we arrived. The lounge and breakfast room are comfortable, with tea and coffee available around the clock and a nice selection of cakes and biscuits. Being able to use the washer and dryer was a real bonus after eight days of travel. Room 6 has a spacious, clean, homely bedroom and bathroom, plus lots of cupboard space. The veranda looks out to the mountains and Teatro Massimo, with glimpses of the cathedral. The location is ideal: under 50 metres from Via Maqueda in the historic area and about 100 metres from Teatro Massimo Vittorio Emanuele. For drivers using GPS, finding the entrance can be confusing. It's beside a barber shop, on the sixth floor. Drive about 10 metres past it and turn onto Donizetti St for free parking. The WiFi was good except it didn't reach the bedroom. We were lucky to find this place and would highly recommend it.

The rooms are roomy and comfortable, and the location is great. There’s a good selection for the self-serve breakfast, along with a well-equipped kitchen area and a lounge.

The room was lovely, and there’s a cozy shared space and kitchen in a great location. The service, though, needs work. We received no service at all, and there wasn’t even anyone there when we checked out.
