Hotel Giardino Inglese

The hotel has a lovely mix of Jugendstil and Mackintosh design, and it's very clean. The front desk staff were keen to help and spoke good English. We'd happily stay again and recommend it. We slept well on the comfortable beds. The park view made the room lovely and quiet, and the hot shower was incredible. Breakfast was a little too sweet for me. I prefer savory food, and there were lots of cakes and dessert-style options. Pharmacies, markets for water and snacks, restaurants and ice cream shops were all within walking distance. About the bugs mentioned in another review, those are mosquito bites and more than usual for Sicily. Use common sense, and don't leave the lights on with the window open after dark.

The garden-view room was a highlight, quiet and overlooking a beautiful park. The jacuzzi was out of order during May 2025, with plans to reopen around June or July, so I didn't get to try it. It sounds like it would be a nice extra in warmer weather, and I'd gladly return. Hotel Giardino Inglese is clean, charming and comfortable, with the city center within walking distance and a bus stop just around the corner. It makes getting around Palermo easy while still offering a calm place to come back to. Breakfast isn't as extensive as at a big chain, but it was satisfying and had what I needed. The staff were the best part: welcoming, friendly and genuinely helpful with questions and requests. This boutique hotel exceeded my expectations, and I'd recommend it for a relaxing stay in Palermo.

After the first night, I was covered in bites from bugs, and the rooms didn't feel clean. The front desk staff weren't helpful or kind. It was a really bad stay, and I wouldn't recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Palermo.

The area is nice, with shops and restaurants close by, and I liked the veranda off our living room. It caught lovely afternoon sun. We had a retro suite, perhaps just dated, and the stay was okay. We thought parking was included, but it wasn't, and the walk to the parking spot was several blocks. By 7:30 the breakfast was out of eggs and meat, though the coffee was good. There wasn't a gym or other amenities that we could find. The front desk person was pleasant, but couldn't provide stamps or mail something for us. The pillows were absolutely awful.
