Medusa B&B

The beach and train station are both nearby, and breakfast was great. Medusa is a really nice, clean place, and the owner was wonderful.

Our room was ready when my friend and I arrived at 2:00 PM. It was spacious, had comfortable beds, and the air conditioning worked well. The shared bathroom was roomy and kept clean, with toiletries available. Breakfast was generous, with coffee, milk, juice, pastries, yogurt, bread with Nutella and jams, and cereal. Wi-Fi was excellent. The owner was friendly, gave us tips on places to visit, and offered us cold water. Her cat also loves being petted. The location is handy, close to Palermo Central Station and around a 15-minute walk from the historic center. The building is older and on the second floor. Traffic on Via Roma starts early, and we could hear it even with the shutters closed. Our room was never cleaned during the stay, and the beds were never made.

The noise was the main issue for me. The boulevard is loud day and night, and it really felt like we were sleeping outside. If you don't bring earplugs, it's hard to sleep, though Alessandra does provide them. That's why I gave the room three stars, even though she was very kind and we managed fine despite the language barrier. The hotel is very clean and comfortable, with good bedding. It's also well placed, near the train station, the city center, and the sights. We took a taxi from the airport, which was easier. It's a shame the noise is the only drawback.

The breakfast was fresh and served on time, and the period property was elegant, tastefully furnished, spotlessly clean, and had every comfort. Our hostess was so kind, helpful, and affectionate during our six nights at Medusa. We’ll remember the holiday fondly. Palermo and the surrounding area are beautiful.
