One More Night

The view was great, and the staff were responsive, but the rooms clearly hadn’t been cleaned before we arrived. They were dirty, with nails in the wall and a used bandage on the bed. There was a couch on the balcony with a reclining backrest, though it was really just a regular broken backrest, and a boiler beside it made noise at night. There were complementary razors in the bathroom, courtesy of some crackheads.

The apartment has a good location and view. The toilet was clean and had warm water, but there wasn’t enough toilet paper or enough garbage bags.

The central location is the one real plus. The room wasn't properly clean, with old sheets and towels, and the bright chandelier and lack of bedside lamps made it hard to relax at night. The shared bathroom was clean enough, but the shower stall was awful, with broken parts and mold by the window on the shower wall. I wouldn't stay again or recommend it.

We booked five nights and left after the second sleepless one. The room smelled strongly of paint, so we had to keep the window open, but there were arguments and shouting in the street at night. It's close to both the center and the station, though the neighborhood isn't at all peaceful. We never got the receipt for the tourist tax, despite asking, and lost the money we'd paid for the stay and tax. The shared bathroom serves two other rooms. The old, rough patterned sheets and very worn towels didn't help, and the cleanliness is clear from the photos. I couldn't photograph the smell. We were greeted by someone who didn't speak Italian. Booking.com called the place “passable,” but our experience was terrible. I don't understand how it stays listed there.
