Tetide Home

We could walk to the city center in about 10 minutes, including plenty of good restaurants, bars and attractions. The room was clean, the air conditioning worked very well, and there was a mosquito net on the window, so mosquitoes weren’t a problem. Our hostess was really friendly and took time to share useful Palermo tips. She also made us a lovely breakfast with regional specialties. We enjoyed our stay a lot.

After hiking around Sicily for two weeks, my father and I spent our third week in Palermo at Tetide Home. The neighborhood was one of the best parts of the stay: beautiful and quiet, with lots of good restaurants nearby. The central sights were a 10 to 15 minute walk away. Eleonora gave us a large, very quiet room. The bathroom was new and elegant, better than many we’d had in hotels during the trip. She made the stay special too. Every day she prepared a great breakfast with lots of sweet and savory choices, and even baked cakes with local ingredients. It was a really pleasant experience. If we come back to Palermo, we’d happily stay at Tetide Home with Eleonora again.

Breakfast was awesome, with a gluten-free section every day that had both sweet and savory choices. I’m gluten-free, and there were sandwiches, croissants and donuts, and once even a chocolate cake Eleanora had baked herself! She was also always helpful with our questions about trains, buses, beaches, whatever we needed. We loved our stay at Tetide. The rooms were spacious and comfortable, the bathroom was very nice, and our room was cleaned daily. The whole b&b is nicely decorated and pretty. It’s in a nicer part of town, still within walking distance of the historical center and just 5 minutes from the subway.

The rooms were wonderful, from their size and comfort to how clean they were, and Eleanora may be one of the kindest people you’ll ever meet. We were talking about the best food we’d had in Palermo, and the cakes Eleanora baked for breakfast each day were near the top of the list. There aren’t many rooms, so you’re lucky if you manage to book one. If you’re going to Palermo, this is the only place you should consider. I feel incredibly lucky I got to stay here and left with a new friend, Eleanora. Whenever I’m in Palermo, I’ll stop by Tetide Home.
