Villa Masetta - Luxury Suite

The rooftop seems to be missed by many guests. We found it peaceful, with amazing views, and enjoyed having drinks there. When we needed help planning things, Giulia and Claudia were wonderful hosts and helped us with everything. We spent five great days and nights at Villa Masetta to kick off our three week trip around Sicily, and Mondello was a perfect place to stay. Breakfast was another nice surprise: unlike at other Italian hotels, an omelet didn’t cost extra. Two small things could make the stay even better, though: complimentary water each day and more proactive service by the pool.

After seven days sailing around the Aeolian Islands, we really needed a chance to rest, and this hotel gave us just that. Giulia and Claudia greeted us with so much warmth and hospitality. The rooms were spacious and thoughtfully arranged, with high ceilings, big windows opening toward the beach, lovely linens, and a comfortable bed. The bath products felt high end. We also loved the refreshing pool and the terrace, which has 360 degree views across Mondello. Mondello is a more relaxed alternative to Palermo. The hotel sits right on the beach, tucked away from street noise, and the beach club is a short walk away. Towels and chair rental were included with our stay. We ordered pizza and Messina beer from Pizzeria Apizzastreet right to our chair. Breakfast was included and delicious, with the usual European spread of cheese, meats, yogurt, fresh fruit, and cannoli. Aperol Spritz’s by the pool were spot on and reasonably priced. A wonderful stay, and we hope to return.

A local friend brought us here, and the family who runs the villa greeted us in person. They were warm, caring and inviting, and we really enjoyed getting to know them and experiencing the culture. Our room was perfect, the pool was amazing, and breakfast was among the best we had in Sicily. The villa is practically on the beach, with lots of great restaurants within walking distance. I’d absolutely stay here if you visit!

Giulia and Claudia, the two sisters who run Villa Masetta, made our stay so memorable. They helped us arrange dinner reservations, a private boat ride, a driver from Cefalù, and even suggestions for lunch. We also got to meet their lovely parents. Our room was spacious, comfortable, and beautifully decorated, and breakfast was delicious with plenty to eat. The beach is right across the street, with private access and chairs. We can’t wait to return!
