I booked through Booking.com two weeks ahead, then spent more than two hours trying to reach the owner on the day I was due to stay. No answer to calls or WhatsApp messages. Booking.com later told me the owner had a problem with the property and was canceling, so I wouldn't be charged. If I'd canceled myself, though, I would've owed a night's stay. That doesn't seem fair. A total mess, and I now see why others complained. Be careful, and don't pay beforehand.
