Soulful Holiday Home in Castel Rigone With Swimming Pool

We arrived to find a place that felt abandoned, not like a resort at all. The large Olympic-sized pool was empty. The smaller heated one had water in it, but it was brown, with leaves and sediment on the bottom. The location itself was nice, but the bad surprises kept coming. The two apartments looked as if they hadn't been used for years, and there was no sanitation. Every room was dirty, including the floors, as the attached photo shows. We were lucky to have brought cleaning and disinfecting spray, and spent two hours cleaning. The owner didn't register us. There were eight of us and two dogs, staying over the August bank holiday, and after two days we left. We spent those two days searching for somewhere else. Other families were there too, and nearly all of them left the day we arrived or the following day. We even made a WhatsApp group to share any updates from the site. We booked through Booking.com and sent photos of the property. After speaking with the operator, we were told they had five days to respond, but we're still waiting. I know that people who booked through other sites and complained have already been refunded. This was absolutely not recommended, especially given what's here.
