Le Corti di Begio

Top notch.

Michele was a wonderful host, always helpful and full of suggestions for local restaurants and places to eat. The "Canonica" apartment is very roomy, with two bathrooms and a private garden that opens onto the pool, so it worked well for our family and friends. The place is beautiful, practical, and tastefully furnished. There's indoor, covered parking, and it's easy to reach. A great base for visiting Salento's most popular spots! Silvia

We rented the whole villa for 18 friends from August 16 to 21, 2021. The place is beautiful and comfortable, with several apartments and en-suite bathrooms, so everyone had privacy. Inside was clean enough, but the outdoor areas were in very poor shape, especially the barbecue area, which was full of dirt. The overall condition was only fair. The shower doors in every room failed to close properly, so water leaked out, some rooms had poor lighting, and the pool stayed dirty all day, every day. The cleaning robot just sat in one corner, while insects and dead lizards were left in the rest of the pool. The bench on apartment B's veranda was already broken. The maintenance man was meant to come once each morning, but he came by more than once a day, including while we were at the pool or elsewhere on the property. One friend saw him enter his room. There were two cats at the villa, apparently with no purpose beyond drinking pool water, while mice were still wandering around. We played music by the pool on only three of the seven days, once in the evening and the other times in the afternoon, within the allowed hours. We kept the volume as low as we could, but the owner and a very, very rude neighbor still reprimanded us rudely.

The period building is made of typical Salento stone, and everything about our week at Le Corti di Begio was perfect. Le Lamie 1 is just right for two people, with a small terrace for eating outside. The pool was great for relaxing, with sun loungers and umbrellas, and the owner lends bicycles for free so you can get to the town's supermarkets and bars. Patù is a good base, and the Maldives of Salento are a 10-minute drive away. Mr. Michele deserves a special mention for being so helpful and always available whenever we needed anything.
