The hotel is old, but that didn’t bother me. The rooms were clean, and the elevator worked. What let the stay down was the food: neither breakfast nor dinner tasted good. The pasta seemed to be canned tomatoes without seasoning, not even salt and pepper. It was my first time in Italy and also the first time I managed to finish an entire dish. The black coffee was like in American movies, ten liters of water made with a few spoonfuls of ground coffee. The wellness center was open only from 5 to 7 PM, which felt brief if you’d been skiing at Madonna or Pejo. The Finnish sauna was set to 60 degrees, probably to save costs, and the outdoor sauna stayed closed for our whole visit. The Turkish sauna smelled really bad. There seemed to be more chlorine than water in the jacuzzi, and after a few minutes my skin started itching. I hope they know chlorine only works up to 15 degrees, and above that there’s just the smell. The hotel isn’t very expensive, but that affected the whole stay. It’d be better to rent a flat elsewhere, cook for yourself, or eat out. The photo shows dessert for two people 😂

Everything I look for after an active day was there: a clean, dry room with water, a ski gear dryer, and good food. It was my second time in this area. There wasn’t a huge range of food, and the buffet still wasn’t full of choices, as last year, but we ate enough and it was all good. I hope that meant little food went to waste. The staff were very nice, including the friendly father and daughter. I plan to come back.

I spent a week at the Grand Zebru Hotel in Italy. The rest of the stay was okay, but an unpleasant visit to the bar really spoiled my impression. When I asked the barman for a glass, he complained that guests spent time in their rooms instead of spending money at the bar. It was a ridiculous, uncalled-for remark, and he was extremely rude. After his rant, he handed me a plastic cup instead of a glass. I felt unfairly treated, and I wouldn’t recommend the hotel to anyone who expects to be treated with respect.

A really nice hotel with very polite staff and good food. The indoor and outdoor wellness areas are well equipped, with a jacuzzi and a wood-fired sauna. It’s well located, about 10 minutes from the ski slopes in Peio.
