Residence Arnica

I’m back for my second stay at this residence in Celledizzo. Cogolo is a five-minute walk away, and the supermarket is right next door. The apartments are lovely and have all the comforts you need. Parking is free just below the residence. There’s a handy barbecue grill with outdoor seating, plus a small shared laundry area. Luca is kind, welcoming, and always available to sort out any problems.

The welcome from the owner was genuinely warm and helpful, and the parking and ski storage worked well. There’s a good Conad supermarket about 150 meters away, with a double EV charging point. We still had a great holiday, but I’d pick a newer apartment next time or pay a little more for ordinary comfort. We’d booked Arnica hoping for one of the newer places shown alongside the older apartments on the Tui and/or Arnica website. We hadn’t checked the photos closely enough and ended up in an older unit. We were looking for a budget ski stay, and we rent out properties ourselves, so maybe we notice missing basics more than some people. Even so, the apartment felt bare: harsh ceiling lights, a dreadful sofa bed, and no bedside lamp apart from the main bedroom light. The TV didn’t work. My Italian is poor, but a smart TV would have been useful for Netflix, Videoland, or similar. The kettle’s earthed plug didn’t fit the socket, so I boiled water in the bathroom by the washing machine. Kitchen supplies were thin: little cutlery and crockery, no bread knife, large glasses, mugs, wine glasses, mixer, or whisk. Tea meant using tiny glasses or soup bowls, and pancakes or scrambled eggs were a struggle. There was a mini percolator but no coffee cups, just small espresso cups. No dishwasher is understandable, but there wasn’t even a dish brush. The central heating boiler sat in the middle of the living room and kitchen, where it got in the way. I’d have put it in the laundry room. With no ventilation, condensation ran down from the windowsills, and sometimes we could hear it dripping. A couple of bin bags and toilet rolls would also have been handy. Nothing exciting, and easy enough to buy, but those are things you’d rather not have to think about on holiday.

Luca was a lovely host, always ready to help and making sure we were comfortable from the start. The apartment in Celledizzo was clean, cosy, and well equipped, and being close to the ski slopes made getting out to ski quick and easy. We had such a pleasant stay that it’s the kind of place you’d want to return to. A great winter break, highly recommended.

We really liked the roomy apartment, the comfortable beds, and the kitchen, which had everything we needed. The owner was lovely too, and even brought us a bottle of delicious wine at the end. There’s also a Finnish sauna and a steam room, both working very well. I’d give this place 10/10.
