The Florence Hills Resort & Wellness

The pool was clean, and the area is beautiful. There’s a local restaurant and a supermarket that are easy to reach. Getting to the city center was really difficult, whether by Uber or bus. Breakfast was also a problem: the area wasn’t very hygienic, with dirty cups and dishes, and the breakfast and night shift staff were disrespectful and unfriendly.

Tommasso at the reseption was so helpful and service minded, and the other staff were friendly too. We arrived to complimentary drinks and snacks, and on departure day we could still use the pool, plus a private shower and bathroom after checking out. The hotel is in a cute little village. You can hear quite a lot through the walls between rooms, though it wasn’t a huge problem for us. Thumbs up!

Our four kids were very happy with the pools, especially the smaller baby pool, and there were lots of chairs for relaxing in the sun. Staff were so helpful and accommodating that I’d give them extra stars. Breakfast was superb, and dinner was wonderful too. We stayed here while on the way to a wedding. The kitchen is very basic, so bring detergent and a sponge. The air-conditioning worked great. There’s a little shop nearby for essentials like suntan lotion, and a small playground as well. We came by bus on a Saturday, which was challenging but doable. A car would have made it much easier. It’s a wonderful place to stay.

There is a friendly woman at reception, which was the bright spot. The reception isn’t staffed in the evening, and when my face started swelling from an allergy in the middle of nowhere, I got scared. Our room had low water pressure, and the shower stopped working. The rooms are separated by doors, so sound carries easily and you can hear conversations from another room. This is more like a large villa or three-star apartments than a hotel, and it isn’t “luxury” as the signposts claim. There’s no breakfast, and the swimming pool isn’t included in the price, which I didn’t think was worth it. For this money, you can find better accommodation.
