B&B Alla Residenza Domus Minervae

I really wanted to leave a positive review, and I know how hard this work can be, but after four days I can't ignore what happened. The only real plus was the location: the escalator gets you to the center in a few minutes, so I gave it three stars for that. The building may be historic, but that doesn't excuse it being dirty or neglected. A man around his mid-30s handed us the keys at reception. When my colleague and I asked how to get to the center, he seemed irritated and gave us little useful information. The elevator light kept flickering, so we weren't comfortable using it. The stairway wasn't working either, and we had to climb three floors by iPhone flashlight. We found two double beds in the room, one for each of us, but the lack of care was obvious. The refrigerator looked possibly vintage, though more likely just old, and it wasn't plugged in. The top of the cupboard was dusty, and the room smelled strongly of damp. Breakfast was the worst part. There was very little fruit, and aside from that and toast, almost nothing for a vegan. The juice machine didn't work, and the only juices were very cheap-looking, so I skipped them. The frozen croissants were nearly all filled, and finding a plain one was hard. By checkout I couldn't wait to leave. Two older staff members, a man and a woman, greeted us warmly as we left, which was a welcome change from the reception we'd had at the start. I hope this comes across as feedback that can help the place improve, not just a negative comment.
