Sweet Night

We were sent here by another B&B where we had booked, since they couldn’t host us because of water problems. There were too many issues. It’s a house with three rooms, ensuite bathrooms, and a shared kitchen, but the heating was off and the whole place was freezing. We got the room’s only radiator going, but it made a ridiculous tractor-like racket and was leaking, with a container underneath to protect the floor. We had to turn it off because of the noise, and the bathroom had no heat at all. There weren’t enough towels for two, and the little hairdryer was useless. At least the water heater worked. Breakfast was poor and rushed because there wasn’t room for four people to eat and the other guests had arrived. Not an experience I’d repeat.

We had a long wait, arriving at 8:00 and not getting into the room until 1:00 p.m. because it wasn’t ready. The room was extremely dirty, with a cockroach 🤮. Breakfast was included in the price, but there was none for all three days. I wouldn’t recommend it.

We were booked elsewhere, then diverted to this B&B with the excuse that the original place didn’t allow pets, even though that was stated when we booked. At first things seemed fine, but then we spotted ants by the entrance. We let the first one go, but the second had disappeared. Nobody was at reception, and we were told to leave our documents and money on the table in the entryway. At 11 PM another couple came back while we were inside, and when they switched on the main light, it went out. I called the number and was told there was nobody they could send at that hour. Luckily I’m an electrician, so I had to fix it myself to keep everyone from being left in the dark. I also found the hot water boiler had a problem, which I fixed too. Breakfast was meager, with ants in the kitchen and no napkins. When I called the lady, she said she’d brought a roll of paper towels two days earlier. To make up for there being none, she told us to use toilet paper because she had nobody to send at the time. I saw no sign of sanitizing or compliance with anti-COVID rules. Never again!

Dust was everywhere, the bedspread was dirty, and breakfast was poor quality. The sheets were worn, faded, and all mismatched, which made the place seem neglected. The lady’s food recommendations were awful, and we ended up in a dump because of her. It’s quite a distance from the city center.
