Terrazze Caracciolo

I had a great stay, thanks! The location is right in the heart of the city, the rooms are comfortable and have every amenity, and the owner is always super friendly.

It’s a shame about the service, because the property has a lot of potential. The location is central, handy for walking to shops, restaurants and the beaches. When we arrived, the owner said towels would be changed after three days, with sheets and room cleaning after five. We booked seven nights, but none of that happened and there was no cleaning during our stay. Breakfast was very average, and on two days even our table hadn’t been set.

The location made getting around the city easy without a car, and the breakfast each morning was superb, with quality sweet and savory food made by Domenico’s mother, who was lovely. I booked all three rooms at Terrazze Caracciolo for my wedding and my family, and couldn’t have chosen better. They’re gorgeous, well appointed and very comfortable, with a private bathroom in each and incredibly comfortable beds. Domenico was a perfect host, precise, friendly, impeccable, and ready to accommodate requests. He also arranged a truly superb reception for my family and me on the wedding day. Thanks again. Getting luggage to the B&B is a workout, since the top floor has no elevator. The apartment’s bathroom door handle is broken and has to be held in place, the shower head didn’t work, and we were told to bring our own toilet paper. There was no light in that bathroom because its bulb was never changed. In our room, water came up from the toilet and shower and flooded the bathroom. We called the woman looking after the place, but she said she couldn’t reach a plumber, so we had no working bathroom in our room. We had to go downstairs to wash in the apartment’s bathroom, which also had no light. By day seven, still not one bulb had been replaced. The room bathroom also smelled horribly of drains. The woman even complained that we’d left towels on the floor. I’ve attached a photo of toilet paper left on the door handle, apparently carrying it to the bathroom was too much for her, and photos of the bananas at breakfast, gone bad and foamy. We rented the whole B&B, including the apartment below, for a week. It’s officially run by the son, but in practice an elderly woman in her eighties was left to handle everything. The rooms weren’t great, and despite daily cleaning being expected, the housekeepers NEVER came during our stay. The woman only cleaned when she felt like it and made beds when she felt like it. For three days she didn’t make the bed at all, only came into the rooms to turn off the air. We asked for fresh sheets on the first day, but they weren’t changed until almost a week later, leaving us with dirty sheets. There was also supposed to be a pool on the upstairs terrace. We NEVER got to use it that week. They didn’t fill the tub or even open the gate to go up. We asked several times for more than one apartment key, but only got a single one, making it a nightmare to get back inside. It was a CRAZY stay, like being in a HORROR!
