Our room and bathroom were both clean, and the room had plenty of space. I was glad to find Sky channels on the TV. Breakfast was generous and good, and the staff were always kind, including when they shared local tips. The property is one of the area's most beautiful, with lots of parking, and the center of Pescasseroli is an easy walk away.

We were disappointed that the restaurant and wellness area were closed during our stay. The rest of the hotel worked well for us: it's close to the center and less than two minutes from the ski lifts. Antonio, the owner, was incredibly friendly, and Lucia at reception was especially warm and helpful. Breakfast had a good range of croissants and pastries, jams and spreads, yogurt, plus hot and cold drinks. The rooms were clean and elegant, with the necessary amenities, and almost all have a working fireplace.

Fresh pastries and hot drinks made to order by the staff were the highlight of breakfast for me. I also appreciated the spacious breakfast room, split into two garden-facing areas, and the lovely lounge by the entrance. The interiors suit this well-kept Art Nouveau villa and its similarly styled annex. Outside, there's a garden and plenty of parking. The position made it easy to get around: the shops and restaurants in Pescasseroli are about a five-minute walk away, while the property sits away from the town-center bustle. The ski lifts are at the top of the neighboring street, the small wildlife rehabilitation park is across from the entrance, and excursions like Monte Tranquillo, Val Fondillo, and Camosciara can be reached without crossing the chaotic center. There are spa and restaurant services, though I didn't use them because I was out doing activities without a set curfew. For my stay, the location, convenient private parking, superb breakfast, and the staff's courtesy and efficiency were the strongest points. Highly recommended.

The staff were friendly, helpful, and professional, and the price felt reasonable for the facilities and time of year. In winter, though, remember there's no covered parking. The breakfast was plentiful, but there wasn't much savory food or juice, and I would've preferred fresh fruit. The elevator was awkward to use since it's actually a freight elevator and you have to keep the floor button pressed until you arrive. The historic building is lovely, especially the big fireplace in the lounge and bar. My room was spacious and comfortable, with all the amenities, and housekeeping changed the linens daily. The mattresses were reasonably comfortable, though the pillows weren't. Some design choices clashed with the hotel's character: there was a steel beam or reinforcement in the middle of my room, and the off-center ceiling fan above the wardrobe seemed poorly placed. They could either embrace modern furnishings with the beams left as they are, or cover them in wood for a warmer mountain feel. The hotel is in the center of Pescasseroli.

We spent five days here at the start of 2019 in really freezing weather, but we never felt cold or had problems from the unexpected snow. The staff helped us through it, clearing extra snow from the driveway and guests' cars. Reception stayed open and available late, and breakfast was generous. The hotel sits on the edge of town, just a two-minute walk away, right by the road to the slopes. It was warm and welcoming, clean, and the staff were so kind and helpful. Finally, somewhere that doesn't follow the 1960s and 1970s hotel standards that seem to define the whole area. Highly recommended!
