The walls are thin enough that you hear everything, and mold made the rooms smell bad. The odor even got into clothes. One friend was moved out after a day because another guest had booked the same room. The owner had him spend the night with an older woman who lived across the street, until a room became available the next day. I know that sounds crazy, but it happened. Another room has its bathroom out in the hall, not inside. On a different occasion, a friend went to check in and the owner walked into a room where another man was already there, just coming out of the bathroom. The owner doesn't know English, so arguing gets nowhere. I have more strange stories from colleagues, but you get the idea. I'm surprised the place hasn't been shut down. Isn't there a government agency in Italy that inspects hotels and restaurants?

Once I got settled, I felt very comfortable in this beautiful, peaceful place. The apartment is large, clean, and well maintained. The owner was very kind and spoke a little Spanish, which helped me understand the basics of my stay. It took me a while to work out how to get there, and I had to walk up some extremely steep hills that felt a bit scary. The people there also helped me find a hairdresser, which was difficult, but they were very helpful. I loved this place and will remember it forever. I highly recommend it!
