The one real disappointment was the air conditioning charge, €2 per kWh. That’s around eight times what electricity costs at home and four times the maximum price in the Netherlands. Apart from that, it’s a fantastic place to spend a holiday: a clean house high on a hill with gorgeous views. The owners are incredibly kind, change the towels and bedding every few days, and sometimes brought us treats like tomatoes, omelets, and pancakes.

I felt right at home thanks to the incredibly friendly owners. It’s peaceful and very clean, with everything you need, plus a spa area, jacuzzi, loungers, and a hammock. You can order breakfast from the owner and eat outside. Lucca, Pistoia, the coast, and mountain towns are nearby, while Florence is about an hour away by car. Such a lovely place to unwind! 😍😍😍😍
